Original research title

EASL-EASD-EASO guidance on the use of resmetirom and semaglutide as MASH-targeted therapy

Guidance considers medicines alongside lifestyle care for eligible adults with non-cirrhotic MASH and stage 2–3 fibrosis. Semaglutide monitoring should include nutrition and muscle health.

Fatty liver care also involves nutrition, physical activity and muscle health. Treatment eligibility requires individual clinical assessment.

This is guidance, not a new trial, and does not apply to everyone with fatty liver. Effects on long-term liver outcomes, including transplantation or death, remain under investigation.

Published clinical guidance; evidence type and certainty differ across recommendations.
